Make Music
With a spoon.
This week’s Friday Fun involves water.
You’ll need five glasses, water, and a spoon.
Fill each glass with water of different quantities. One very full, one a little less full, one medium full, one even less full, and one glass nearly empty.
Using a spoon (you may try different kinds, such as plastic, metal, or wood), develop sound by hitting the sides of the water glasses. Practice and you may even be able to tap out a song!
Once upon a time, I embellished a large number of wooden spoons. All it took was a cut-up book and encaustic (wax).
If you’d rather not make music, then go ahead and eat ice cream with a spoon and listen to music instead. But honestly, water music will likely be a lot more fun!
Sweet Antidote is where generosity meets art in conversation. A twice-monthly gathering on Zoom (and also offers a private online space for discussion) for artists who crave depth, honesty, and creative kinship. I, Suzanne, lead these calls, and no two are ever the same!
