sketchbook video page-turner

In 2018, I began sharing my sketchbook pages. This video represents Sketchbook #62, which has been shared here with you.

The rest of my videos are on my YouTube channel.

Including video shorts.

What keeps me filling sketchbook pages year after year and book after book? As we all know, it is a messy world out there. However, everything in my body settles down when I am drawing (or making art). My heart rate slows, and I feel better. This happens with a one-hour drawing session or even a five-minute session.

What do you do for your internal health beyond good food and regular movement?

Happy March! I see spring in every walk I take recently: warm sun, small plants budding through wet dirt, trees reaching higher, and even blue skies in my corner of the Pacific Northwest.

Is now a good time to try a sketchbook as a relaxation technique?

You cannot do it wrong. Each page is for you. Color. Scream with a black sharpie. Draw carefully. Glue something down. Paint with abandon. Basically, make yourself a book of pages of whatever you like.

A sketchbook need not be fancy. Any paper, bound together or not, will do. Record what is in you and get it on paper: thoughts, feelings, reactions, fun days, bad moments, random trivia, poems, and anything else.

May you give yourself a chance to enjoy this process. Namasté
